I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
