Intensive Russian Assaults Disrupt Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks overnight. A young boy lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The attacks succeed periods of air raids in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
